The Pet People

Do you go out of the house or at work for a long time each day?

Are you unable to walk your dog as much as you would like?

Do you want your dog to socialise and play with other dogs?

If you can say yes to any of the above then The Pet People dog walking service is specially designed for you!

We will pick up your dog from your home/work place in our specially designed van and take him or her for at least an hour’s walk with up to three other dogs.  We will take your dog to a different local location each day and play their favourite games or just allow them to sniff the ground - whatever they want to do.    Then we will return your dog to your home, towel dried if necessary, ensure there is fresh water and leave them to sleep the rest of the day away.  A tired dog is a happy dog!!  You will be left a diary, which will be completed with the location, time and duration of the walk, which doggy friends walked with them that day and what they got up to.

There will never be more than 4 dogs walked at any one time so that all dogs are safe and under control at all times and can have lots of attention throughout the walk; individual walks are available subject to availability.  Your dog walker is fully insured and police checked and an experienced dog owner and trainer.  The dog walking van is air-conditioned with custom made cages to ensure your dog’s safety.

Group Walks:

To take part in the group walks your dog must be sociable with other dogs and people and have a good recall.  Your dog is walked for at least an hour then returned home.

·         There is a 20% discount for second/third dogs from the same household.

 

Individual Walks:

These walks are for dogs that are not suited to group walks.  Please contact us for further information

Dogs can be accepted onto The Pet People dog walks after a free no-obligation assessment of the dog’s temperament and is subject to a one-week trial period.

Important note

When choosing a dog walker ensure they are fully insured, police checked and that they can safely transport and manage your dog. Just “loving dogs” is not enough! - You are entrusting them with the health and safety of your dog and the security of your home.  Make sure their insurance covers the health of your dog, the loss of house keys and changing of locks, any accidental injury to another person or animal by your dog.

The Pet People can offer you all of this! We have invested in your dog's safety whilst on the road by buying a large van and getting professionally fitted cages which ensure your dog will have the best protection in case of an emergency and not thrown around in a standard car.
